***NEW Scholarship*** Boom and Bucket Scholarship

 https://www.boomandbucket.com/blog/scholarship

Boom & Bucket is offering a scholarship of $1,000 to be awarded each year to a student pursuing a heavy machinery themed program. This scholarship is available to both currently enrolled students and future students who are planning to attend a program within the next 12 months. The program can be at a college or a trade school anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Our Goal

Our CEO put himself in the C-suite managing a team of over 200 people at his last company. Before that, he built and sold a startup in under 3 years. This all started with an education, which is why Boom & Bucket is proud to offer a scholarship. We hope to help in giving everyone the opportunity to a quality education, regardless of financial standing.

How To Apply

To apply, students must write a 500+ word essay or record a 2-minute video explaining who you are and what makes you excited about the heavy equipment space. Please submit your application by 12:00PM central time on June 15th of each calendar year. Winners will be chosen by July 15th. The winning scholarship will be paid directly to the school as a tuition payment.

Who We Are

Camp Ignite

Charlotte Fire Department is excited to announce that the application period for Camp Ignite Camp Hornets’ Nest are NOW OPEN:  MONDAY, MARCH 20th!! Registration is open to all high school students in Charlotte and the surrounding areas! The application period will be closing April 2nd at 11:59pm.

Camp Dates:

  • Camp Ignite - June 20-24, 2023
  • Camp Hornets Nest - June 25-29, 2023

During their 4-night, 5-day stay, campers learn skills associated with search and rescue techniques, hose-line advancement, rappelling, ladders, and much, much more!

Camp Ignite educates and inspires high school girls to follow their dreams by introducing them to a future of limitless opportunities. The curriculum provides a safe, dynamic, and interactive environment to introduce campers to the fundamentals of firefighting and ignites courage, confidence, and character. Campers train alongside female firefighters as we break down barriers and stereotypes in a male-dominated career.

Camp Hornet’s Nest welcomes boys in grades 9-12. Through this program, we provide high school boys with the opportunity to learn more about careers in firefighting. The program teaches teamwork, responsibility, and leadership. Activities in the program will demonstrate that participants must work as a team to succeed. By the end of their stay, Camp Ignite and Camp Hornet's Nest participants gain an understanding of the Charlotte Fire’s commitment to and pride in serving the City of Charlotte.

Both Camp Ignite and Camp Hornet’s Nest are FREE, eliminating any financial obstacles to participate, and that’s why we are asking for your support. Operating these camps takes a significant investment from our department. Contributions of any amount are welcomed and sincerely appreciated.
