Community Service: West End Clean Up

On April 18, 2015, The Chris Canty Foundation will host the 4th Annual Historic West End Cleanup for Change.

Volunteers will gather at Johnson C. Smith University at 8:00am sharp to check-in, and receive tools, and volunteer assignment details.

The Chris Canty Foundation, the City of Charlotte, Johnson C. Smith University, and many other community partners are joining forces to support the cleanup. Event sponsors, proud to support this most important initiative, are eager to begin beautification activities as many of these neighborhoods are struggling to maintain their original character and are in dire need of volunteer advocacy. The community clean-up will impact the following neighborhoods: Biddleville/Smallwood/Five Points, Dalebrook, Eleanor Heights, and Garden Park. New to the cleanup this year is the addition of local schools. This effort will improve the exteriors of Merry Oaks Elementary, South Mecklenburg High School, and West Charlotte High School.
