University of North Georgia Corps of Cadets

University of North Georgia (UNG) Corps of Cadets is one of only six senior military colleges in the nation, and we’re by far the least expensive.  Our Cadets from your state pay in-state tuition, saving them more than $50,000 over their four years of college.
We’re looking for disciplined young men and women who want to be leaders.  Your student should have good grades, a record of extra-curricular achievement, and be physically fit.
Please tell them to apply for the Army ROTC scholarship now.  The first of three national boards meets in October.
U.S. Army Cadet Command awarded 68 high school seniors scholarships who began as new Cadets at UNG this fall.  In fact, we have over 250 scholarship recipients in our Corps of Cadets.
Nation-wide, for academic year 2016-2017, about 8,500 high school seniors applied for the scholarship. About 2,500 were awarded. About 25% of those were 4-year scholarships and 75% were 3-year scholarships.
The nation-wide profile for the 2016 academic year recipients was:
·         95% were in the top 50% of their academic classes (69% were in the top 25%)
·         26% were class officers
·         76% earned varsity sports letters
·         59% were varsity team sports captains
·         28% were in JROTC
·         18% were club president
·         3.6 average GPA
·         1268 math + critical reading SAT; 28 ACT composite score
